I've noticed that working from home has been a bit more challenging lately, maybe it's the cosmic shifts with Mercury in retrograde or just the ebb and flow of everyday life, but it's made me remember the importance of starting my day on the right foot with a mindful morning routine. I'm not talking about waking up at 5 a.m. for a cold shower—just grounding myself before diving into work.
One of the main hurdles of remote work is the constant distractions pulling us away from our tasks. Whether it's chores, online shopping, or endless tea breaks, these interruptions can disrupt our workflow and decrease productivity.
And as someone who works in the creative fields, I find being confined within the same four walls each day can dampen my creative spark and leave me feeling a littlef uninspired. Coupled with a dwindling attention span, it's easy to fall into the trap of procrastination and lose sight of our goals.
How can Ceremonial Cacao help boost productivity?
This is where I had to remind myself about the potent compounds of ceremonial cacao and how it can help sharpen mental clarity and uplift mood. At the heart of ceremonial cacao lies theobromine, a natural stimulant that enhances focus and concentration without the jittery side effects often associated with caffeine.
Additionally, cacao contains phenylethylamine (PEA) and anandamide, neurotransmitters known as the "bliss molecules," which promote feelings of happiness and well-being. I know falling out of a morning routine is easy, and i have definitely felt it the last couple of weeks, but i am back to incorporating a mindful cacao ritual into my morning and I feel so much better for it.
How to make a Ceremonial Cacao morning Ritual:
To make it a ritual, it's easier than you think. Simply set aside 15-20 minutes in the morning—trust me, it's worth waking up a bit earlier.
First step it to brew a cup of ceremonial-grade cacao (I use about 30 grams, but start with 20 grams if you're new to it) with water or add a bit of plant milk and a natural sweetener if desired.
Then, find a cozy spot at home, play some soothing meditation sounds, and savour your cacao mindfully. Take a few minutes to journal your thoughts and intentions for the day, allowing the warmth of the cacao to ground you.
I also encourage you to use this time to write down your work tasks for the day, I like to write out all my small under 20 minute tasks and then us the Pomodoro method to tackle them before i move into the larger more time consuming projects.
Incorporating ceremonial cacao into your morning isn't just about nourishing your body—it's about nurturing your mind and spirit. It empowers you to tackle the challenges of remote work with grace and resilience.
So, brew yourself a cup of cacao, embrace the ritual, and watch as your productivity soars.
