How to make ceremonial cacao at home:

Ceremonial cacao, a sacred elixir crafted from the purest cacao beans, is more than a beverage—it's a ritual, a connection to the Earth's essence. Beyond its rich flavor, ceremonial cacao offers a daily sanctuary for grounding, mindfulness, and embracing the profound energy within.

Why Daily Ceremonial Cacao?

Daily consumption of ceremonial cacao provides a myriad of benefits. Rich in antioxidants, it nurtures your well-being while offering a gentle alternative for those sensitive to caffeine. For some, it's a mindful morning ritual, a moment to ground themselves before the demands of the day.

Dose Guide: Crafting Your Daily Ritual

Before diving into the recipe, choose a dose that aligns with your intentions:

  • 10 - 15g: A safe dose for kids or those just starting, perfect for a gentle daily ritual.
  • 15 - 20g: A great daily dose, especially if you plan to have 2+ cups a day.
  • 30 - 40g: Considered a "ceremonial" dose. Perfect for meditation, creativity, or as part of a gentle daily ritual.

Note: Use a scale or approximate with measuring spoons—2 heaped tablespoons equal approximately 20g.

Now to prepare your ingredients:

I like to make my cacao when using it for ceremony or mediation in it's purest form with just cacao and water. However if you would like to sweeten it or make it creamier you can add milk or sweetners to taste. The below recipe follows a general guide:

  • 1/2 cup milk of your choice
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • Sweetener (to taste): Honey or maple syrup, or a natural sweetener
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • Optional Additions: cayenne pepper, chilli, lions maine mushrooms, or your preferred spices.
